this is a test

This short film (a minute and a half total) is part of my student thesis project. I'm curious to see how people respond to it. Take a look and then give a brief answer to the questions that follow.

1. Is this entertaining?

2. Did you feel at all overwhelmed? Is it too much information all at once?

3. Did the music enhance the experience or did it get in the way?

4. Do you think that the visuals change or influence your experience of the text? If so, how?

5. Where would you see yourself using this?

6. Would you buy something like this? If so, how much would you pay for it?

7. Is there anything that you would change about this presentation?

thanks for taking the time to view and give your opinion.

1. Is this entertaining?
Yes, it was entertaining but it seemed a bit too powerpoint presentation.

2. Did you feel at all overwhelmed? Is it too much information all at once?
No, it isn't too much information. The big images help to understand but they are a bit disconnected.

3. Did the music enhance the experience or did it get in the way?
It didn't get in the way but I don't think it helped to tie it all together. But the music helps to add interest.

4. Do you think that the visuals change or influence your experience of the text? If so, how?
Yes, I think visuals are read easiser than words or even sound so once you see a picture, your brain goes crazy with associations.

5. Where would you see yourself using this?
tough one. as it is built, maybe on a presentatio or student workshop, somekind of self-esteem situation. The text is what does that I think

6. Would you buy something like this? If so, how much would you pay for it?
Probably not, since I'm a designer I would probably just put something together myself.

7. Is there anything that you would change about this presentation?
I would make it more continous. Maybe that it flows more, so the text doesn't get so interrupted....

Hope this helps!

it was quite entertaining, but didnt make me fall off my chair.

It didnt feel at all overwelmed

The music definatly enhanced the experience

I didnt think it needed the text at all.

It would put it on whilst eating a sandwich in fron of a computer in between work.

im not sure if i would buy it as it stands because it is so short.

I think it needs to be longer.

1. Is this entertaining?
Yes, although maybe it should rather be considered thoughtprovoking

2. Did you feel at all overwhelmed? Is it too much information all at once?
No, I did not feel overwhelmed. I don't think it is too much information - it's just a few sentences, after all.

3. Did the music enhance the experience or did it get in the way?
The music helped, but just a little.

4. Do you think that the visuals change or influence your experience of the text? If so, how?
The pictures give make the text clearer - but they also limit its meaning to the ideas shown in the pictures.

5. Where would you see yourself using this?
I don't think I would use this anywhere because I actually prefer the text as it is - leaving more room for imagination.

6. Would you buy something like this? If so, how much would you pay for it?
No - see above.

7. Is there anything that you would change about this presentation?
I think if there is to be a presentation, the animations could be a bit smoother - they are interesting the way they are, but that kind of draws the attention away from the text.

1. Is this entertaining?
Yes. In fact, it reminded me of the video for "Sunscreen"

2. Did you feel at all overwhelmed? Is it too much information all at once?
No

3. Did the music enhance the experience or did it get in the way?
I might have chosen a different track, but the music certainly helped.

4. Do you think that the visuals change or influence your experience of the text? If so, how?
No, since the visuals seem to all be a literal illustration of the text.

5. Where would you see yourself using this?
Not really sure. Like I said, it struck me as being like a music video. Perhaps in the intro of a Website.

6. Would you buy something like this? If so, how much would you pay for it?
Possibly.

7. Is there anything that you would change about this presentation?
Maybe a different song in the background, but that's just my personal preference. Also, would be curious to hear how it sounded without the slideshow clicking sounds.
